The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Retirement Plans Audit Support Specialist to join the team in Mesa, AZ or Seattle, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive research and timely responses to external auditors during the Annual Return/Report (Form 5500) audit process, including census data and participant benefit audits

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and responses for various audits, including those conducted by defense contract audit agencies, corporate audits, and monthly pension administration audits

  • Assist both internal and external auditors with the annual Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit processes, focusing on critical areas such as benefit payment, valuation, eligibility, and funding audits

  • Support the monthly reconciliation and reporting processes for non-qualified defined benefit plans, ensuring compliance with governmental audit requirements

  • Engage in quality council initiatives aimed at addressing nonconformance issues that adversely affect participants or processes, employing defined methodologies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in defined contribution plan administration or a similar role

  • 5+ years of experience with supporting regulatory compliance processes/audits (e.g. SOX, DFARS, etc.)

  • 5+ years of experience with Financial Data Analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Financial certifications (e.g., CEBS, CPA, or similar)

  • 3+ years performing or providing research and support for internal and government (Form 5500) audit processes

  • 3+ years of experience in benefits and compensation operations, specifically in retirement plan administration or audit support

  • Experience with audit management software

  • Experience researching and problem-solving

  • Experience communicating skills, both written and verbal, with internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools
