General Description

We are in search of a resourceful OT (Operational Technology) Engineer to bolster our team. This role requires proficiency with OT systems, along with hands-on experience in system implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance. As an OT Engineer – Cybersecurity Specialist, you will be responsible for installing cybersecurity and secure networking solutions, ensuring system reliability and upkeep, while collaborating across teams to enhance operational efficiency.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Install and Maintain OT Cybersecurity Solutions: implementation of robust security architectures for OT environments, ensuring effective network segmentation, access controls, and threat detection mechanisms. Installation of OT cybersecurity hardware and software packages along with routine maintenance activities.
  • ISA 62443 Based Assessment: Conduct in-depth assessments and vulnerability analyses of OT infrastructure, guiding the identification of potential weaknesses and the prioritization of mitigation efforts.
  • Technical Support: Provide adept technical assistance and troubleshooting for OT systems, including hardware, software, networks, and industrial equipment.
  • System Maintenance: Execute routine maintenance tasks, updates, and patches on OT systems to uphold peak performance and security.
  • Network Administration: Oversee and monitor OT networks, including LAN, WAN, and industrial networks, to guarantee stability, reliability, and security.
  • Asset Management: Maintain an inventory of OT assets, encompassing hardware, software licenses, and industrial equipment, ensuring proper documentation and tracking.
  • System Integration: Assist in the integration of new OT systems, applications, and technologies into existing infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and secure operation.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and technical manuals relating to OT systems, configurations, and processes.
  • 50% Regional travel to customer sites (10-25% overnight) within North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia

Qualifications

Required Competencies

  • Experience (3-5 years) in OT engineering roles, preferably with a focus on cybersecurity,
  • Proven track record of implementing OT software and hardware solutions in critical infrastructure environments.
  • Understanding of OT systems, protocols, architectures, and technologies, including industrial control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS).
  • Experience installing and configuring cybersecurity packages including Managed Antivirus, SIEM, ELM, NSM, Threat Monitoring, Automated Patch Management, Password Management, Managed File Transfer.
  • Hands on experience with Physical and Virtual systems and associated infrastructure hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISA 62443).

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Preferred Experience/Competencies

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, ISA CAP, etc. are highly desirable.
  • In depth knowledge of Secure Network Architectures for critical infrastructure environments
  • Experience with a wide variety of cybersecurity hardware/software packages including:
    • Trellix Endpoint Security, Whitelisting, SIEM
    • Threat Monitoring/Asset Management (Nozomi, Dragos, Claroty)
    • Fortinet, FortiGate, FortiSIEM, FortiSOAR
    • Cisco (firewall, switches, etc.)
    • Splunk
    • Windows Server/Hyper-V Server
  • OT Cybersecurity Assessment and Cybersecurity Program implementation and planning
