Position Overview:


This position will provide and be direct technology support for our Tech Solutions business line. This role’s focus is on supporting business customers with IT and technology equipment, enhanced voice solutions, and networking services. This position will also serve as a sales engineer, assisting in the design of comprehensive client solutions. This is a hands-on position that may be required to do site surveys for upcoming projects, and to support all related technology equipment. This position is also responsible for assisting the IT Manager in providing IT support to customers and employees throughout the company. The position requires that a candidate live in the Wichita, KS metro area or surrounding county.




Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:




Business to Business IT Consultation:



  • Provides ongoing business customer IT support to include network maintenance and monitoring, server maintenance and updates, computer updates, technical assistance and guidance with hardware, developing and maintaining security procedures, and assisting with email and antivirus systems.

  • Maintains business customer networks, including but not limited to installation/configuration of network equipment, running and terminating network drops, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

  • Serves as a technical resource to sales team regarding network system requirements.

  • Assesses business customer network and/or internet system requirements and designs LAN/WAN networks and/or internet systems to meet customer needs.

  • Assesses business customer telecommunication system requirements and designs hosted voice systems to meet customer needs.




Internal IT Support:



  • Provides IT support for users; checks for and updates work priorities through a ticketing system and communicates progress or delays.

  • Sets up and configures new customer and employee network access including required equipment.

  • Performs routine maintenance tasks such as system updates.

  • Implements security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption, to protect network from cyber threats.

  • Creates and maintains documentation of network-related processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Monitors the performance of the network infrastructure, making suggestions for improving efficiency and troubleshooting issues that arise.

  • Evaluates applications and software patches for network and desktop applications to see if they will solve issues.

  • Maintains current knowledge of hardware and software technologies and develops concepts for use and possible deployment.

  • Keeps supervisor and others, as appropriate, informed of work activities, progress, and problems.

  • Assists with other duties as assigned.




Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Successful completion of IT Trade or Technical school or Bachelor’s Degree in IT field is preferred.

  • IT Professional certifications such as cybersecurity, CompTIA A+, or CompTIA Networking recommended.




Specialized Skills and Type of Experience Needed to be Successful:



  • 3+ years of experience in an IT technical support role is required.

  • Excellent knowledge of networks, PC, and desktop hardware.

  • Working knowledge of desktop and server operating systems and applications (such as Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory).

  • Proficient in enterprise patching rollouts/monitoring/updates.

  • Experience with printers, scanners, and other peripherals.

  • Good understanding of modern computer and network security practices.

  • Advanced problem-solving skills, to manage complex situations with multiple layers and resolve to solution anticipating needs now and into the future.
