Job Description Summary

The IT Support Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining University Relations (UR) technology resources, including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and A/V equipment. This role involves designing hardware specifications, setting up and configuring equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with staff and student workers to provide prompt and effective support.

Key responsibilities include:
• Configuring, deploying, and maintaining UR computing resources.
• Managing and tracking technology inventory.
• Conducting periodic audits of access rights to ensure security compliance.
• Utilizing remote support tools such as InTune and Jamf for deploying security updates, distributing software packages, and assisting users.
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems.

Additionally, the IT Support Coordinator contributes to IT-related projects, such as implementing computer management changes, and provides comprehensive technical support to UR staff under the direction of leadership.

The candidate must have proven ability to work well with a team as well as be self-motivated. Expertise in Windows operating system usage and troubleshooting. In addition, this candidate should be able to troubleshoot major software suites such as MS SQL, MS Office, Adobe products as well as have helpdesk experience. Candidates must have sharp problem-solving skills. Knowledge of mobile device connectivity and configuration a plus. Strong organizational, multitasking and customer service skills is a must. The position will be involved with multiple concurrent projects requiring flexibility and ease in adjusting to changing priorities. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Physical Demands: The ability to lift and move computer equipment of at least 20 lbs is required. The ability to transport computer equipment between multiple buildings.

Preferences:
Experience supporting Apple operating systems is a plus.
Experience developing training procedures and documentation is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of professional information technology experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of IT systems and ability to support their use. Knowledge of procurement of software tools and services. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in the use of Google Office Suite. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.
