Job Description Summary

Organization's Summary Statement:

The University of Maryland’s Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of IT Coordinators to lead and support our IT team dedicated to various research projects. This role involves overseeing the IT infrastructure and ensuring the alignment of technology services with the laboratory's cutting-edge research in intelligence and security. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of cybersecurity, and an affinity for working in a fast-paced research environment.
This position is responsible for the management of all technology resources.
Serves UNIX, Mac, and help desk manager.
Oversees research data collection.
Focuses on monitoring, operations and enterprise systems.
Manages a team of professional and support staff.
Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: Must be able to be in the office 5 days a week, adjusted core hours, and occasional work from home considered on a case by case basis.

Preferences:
Certifications in IT management and security (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP).
Prior experience in an intelligence, security, or defense research environment.
Experience with IT management in a research or academic setting.
Active TS/SCI clearance

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Three (3) years of professional information technology experience. One (1) year leading or supervising professional staff. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of UNIX Linux, BSD, AIX, Solaris, IDAP, Kerberos, Lan and Wan TCP/IP networking fundamentals. Knowledge of best practices in administration and customer service. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in the use of Google Office Suite. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.
