Position Description

The IT Policy and Compliance Analyst will support USAID in ensuring compliance with federal IT and cybersecurity mandates while advancing strategic communication initiatives. The analyst will track emerging IT and cybersecurity trends, provide expertise in regulatory compliance, and enhance internal and external communications to position USAID as thought leaders in federal IT.

Work Schedule: Hybrid (Occasional onsite meetings)
Clearance: Ability to obtain a facility (FAC) clearance

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, assess, and ensure compliance with Federal IT and cybersecurity mandates.
  • Support the development and implementation of a performance management system for IT governance and compliance.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance strategic planning, risk assessment, and compliance processes.
  • Manage compliance-related projects to meet federal requirements.
  • Assist in developing and executing a strategic communications plan.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications strategies, ensuring alignment with USAID’s IT strategic goals.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all internal and external channels.
  • Monitor media coverage of IT and cybersecurity developments and prepare summary reports.
  • Track metrics such as engagement rates and stakeholder feedback to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on compliance and communication performance.
  • Liaise with executive-level stakeholders and support briefings and discussions related to IT compliance and communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in IT compliance, policy analysis, or strategic communications.
  • Proven ability to interpret federal mandates and implement compliance strategies.
  • Experience in managing complex projects and aligning them with organizational goals
  • Strong knowledge of federal IT mandates, including cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience drafting technical and strategic documents.
  • Proficiency in strategic communications planning and performance measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and manage cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with strategic communications in a federal agency setting.
  • Knowledge of content management systems and social media strategies.
