IT Helpdesk Technician


CURE Auto Insurance is looking for a skilled helpdesk technician to provide fast and effective support over email and in person to our quickly growing workforce. As a help desk technician, you will be responsible for responding to inquiries in person and by email/chat, assess and diagnose computer hardware and software problems, and implement effective solutions.


Candidates considered for this role must possess advanced knowledge of computer software and hardware systems, excellent diagnostic skills, and high-level communication skills.

 

Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Install and configure servers’ software, applications, tools and patches as needed
  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve customer issues
  • Resolve systems, application, hardware, and network trouble tickets
  • Track related IT issues, coordinate resolution, and assist in driving issues to closure
  • Escalate high severity issues to other technical teams for resolution
  • Take ownership of customers/employees’ issues and see problems through to resolution
  • Active Directory Administration including DHCP, Active Directory Account creation and management, and Group Policy.
  • Server administration including Windows Update server and application servers.
  • Desktop support - hardware and software administered via Spiceworks Help Desk System.
  • VOIP phone support.
  • Nortel Callpilot and Symposium administration.
  • Data and phone administration.
  • Hardware and Software deployment.
  • Intranet Support via WordPress and Dot Net Nuke.
  • iOS/Android support.

 

Qualifications: 

  • At least 3 years help-desk experience dealing with laptop, phone, servers, software installation etc.
  • Hands on experience in firewall, VMware, switches, scripting, and security tools is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of peripherals.
  • Experience building computers from the ground up including installation configuration and maintaining OS and user applications.  
  • Experience with Operating Systems: XP, Windows 7, and Server 2003 edition; Linux a plus.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.  
  • Knowledge of software and hardware firewalls.
