Yorktel is currently seeking a Help Desk Technician who will be heavily involved with supporting many technical and administrative tasks for the VBMS program. These tasks include, but are not limited to, supporting technicians performing on-site installations and assuring sign-off acceptance for the work; providing remote troubleshooting support, assuring tickets get opened in any necessary system; and assuring we meet or exceed the SLA’s that we are responsible for.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The Help Desk Technician needs to support the maintenance and installation activities in the field along with other VBMS staff.
  • This individual needs to be technically savvy enough to perform successful fault isolation techniques so that a problem can be identified correctly, and the appropriate replacement equipment can be shipped to the site for repair/replacement.
  • The Help Desk Technician needs to be able to understand the technology and break it down to layman’s terms so that quicker service and turnaround can be achieved with a high rate of success and low cost where possible.

Education & Experience:

  • The Help Desk Technician needs to be familiar with supporting Windows and Linux hardware, basic networking, and supporting other various equipment.
  • Extensive use of business computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Requirements:

  • May require occasional lifting (up to 25lbs).
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
  • Requires extensive sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Must be willing to apply for and receive Suitability Clearance.
  • Must be willing to complete background checks and drug tests as required by current or future contracts.
