Position Title: Information Systems Security Analyst (Firewalls)

 

Position Summary:

•          IT Security Analyst position is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise-class security solutions, with experience in Cyber defense planning who can provide accurate information on the current security environment to management while also suggesting improvements to the security operations program.

•          This position requires an individual with a deep understanding of Firewalls management.  Administrative and technical skills on security monitoring tools and appliances is essential.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following are the primary duties and responsibilities of this position; however, this is not an all-inclusive listing. Other duties may be assigned within the Security Operations.

•          Implementation, integration, and monitoring of security systems.

•          Work with IT teams on their requests for firewall rules. Analyze the firewall request and help fill the firewall request form with detailed justification on the request, IPs and port details as needed.

•          Analyze the threats associated with opening the ports to external sources outside of the company perimeter and report the risk.

•          Awareness of new threat vectors and make recommendations for improved security countermeasures

•          Assist in developing and designing solutions for enhancements/projects needing new firewall rules

•          Monitor security systems and reports to maintain compliance with multiple regulations such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and DHS CFATS.

•          Create and assist with managing KPI reports that can be used to identify trends and establish metrics.

•          Facilitate issue identification and resolution through the appropriate business units.

•          Provide direction to infrastructure teams, end-user support, application teams, and business units on best security practices.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•          Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, and/or Business, or equivalent work experience

•          Minimum of 3years’ experience with enterprise-class and open source firewall tools like CISCO, Fortinet, Palo Alto...

•          Experience with different types of firewalls like - Packet Filters, Stateful Inspection, and Proxy Server Firewalls.

•          3-5 years’ experience in IT systems administration with a firm understanding of infrastructure, networking and how systems interact with each other.

•          Holds at least one vendor-neutral security certification.

•          A high degree of proficiency with ServiceNow tools and Google platform

•          Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and provide effective problem solving

•          Experience with complex implementations that include packaged software and custom development.

•          Excellent analytical and problem solving skills related to networking, operating systems, log analysis and malware analysis.

•          Experience communicating and reporting to all levels of management .

•          Willingness and ability to travel as required
