Overview






Knowledge Services is seeking a Cybersecurity Project Manager for a contract-to-hire role in Indianapolis, IN.   Hybrid work schedule with a few days onsite each week in Zionsville, IN.

Responsibilities






Cybersecurity Project Manager Responsibilities:

• The ideal candidate will act as a Security (SME) and will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, driving technical projects, and ensuring successful delivery of network initiatives.

• This role will require extensive experience in managing security-related programs, including applications, data, cloud and networking. You will work closely with security, engineering, operations, and leadership teams to drive the successful implementation of network solutions that align with business goals.

• Serve as the Security SME and lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale network programs, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), cloud firewalls, and network security initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and networking teams to ensure that network solutions meet business requirements, are scalable, and align with industry best practices.
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of security projects, including defining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure that infrastructure and applications upgrades, migrations, and new implementations are successfully executed within budget and on time.
• Develop and maintain program roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technology strategies.
• Identify potential risks, dependencies, and obstacles, and proactively develop mitigation plans to ensure successful program outcomes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related program activities, providing regular updates and reporting to stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Drive process improvements to streamline project delivery, reduce operational costs, and improve overall security posture within the organization.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Mentor and guide technical teams in best practices related to program management, security technologies, and process improvement.









Qualifications






Cybersecurity Project Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of experience managing technical programs, with at least 5 years focused on security.
• Proven experience leading large-scale security initiatives, including Zero Trust, cloud networking, and operations projects.
• Hands-on experience working with security programs, policies and procedures and Security Operations Centers (SOC).
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocation for large, complex programs.
• Demonstrated experience with risk management, dependency tracking, and issue resolution within technical programs.
• Experience with Smartsheet.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, etc.).
• Experience in working with enterprise-level security and infrastructure and cloud-based networking solutions.
• Experience with technologies such as Palo Alto Firewalls and Zscaler.
• Familiarity with network security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with DevOps principles.
• 5+ years of experience in building and maintaining standards, reporting, and dashboards within Jira.
