Overview






The Compliance Analyst works under the direction of the Director Corporate Compliance, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (DCCO) to support the NAH CCO and NAH leadership in the effective implementation and execution of the NAH Compliance Program (which includes compliance, audit, privacy, interoperability, information blocking, and quality payment programs). The Compliance Analyst maintains various Compliance Program routine tasks and related documentation, such as conflict of interest routine reporting, compliance hotline, exclusion screening, nonmonetary compensation log, and privacy reports. The Compliance Analyst reviews Business Associate Agreements for privacy and operational concerns, including the offshoring of data. The Compliance Analyst assists Compliance Officers with performing education, investigations, audits, and inquiries as needed. The Compliance Analyst assists with identifying emerging compliance risks and takes on additional responsibilities for each area of NAH compliance specialization as needed.









Responsibilities






Core Responsibilities
* Responsible for the primary review of Business Associate Agreements (BAA), with direction from department leadership.

* Responsible to develop a review (and remediation, if needed) of existing and future BAAs to ensure consistency with NAH standards.

* Responsible to report to payors where required, the offshoring of PHI according to the payor standards.

* Generates meaningful guidance and reports that support program and organizational effectiveness and efficiency with an understanding of NAH’s business objectives and KPIs.

* Assists in the design, coordination, documentation, and execution of audits, investigations, and compliance activities under the guidance of a Compliance Officer or department leadership.

* Assists monitoring activities, including monitoring of corrective action plans, through documentation and follow-up with relevant NAH business leaders and Compliance Officers.

* Assists in providing compliance training across the NAH system. Training includes routine, mandatory, job/department specific, just-in-time, and other training as indicated by compliance and NAH leadership.

* Participates in the development of annual compliance guiding documents, including the compliance, privacy, education, and audit plans.

* Works closely with DCCO to work on day-to-day and mid-term priorities.



Compliance/Safety
* If required for position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame.

* Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Safety Event tool; attends all safety related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity trends, developments, best practices and regulatory changes.









Qualifications






Education
Associates Degree in related field or at least 2 years equivalent related experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities - Required

Certification & Licensures
One or more of the following: Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Professional Coder (AAPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (AHIMA), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), RHIT or RHIA (AHIMA), Certified Health Data Analyst (AHIMA), and/or Revenue Cycle Certification through AAHAM - Preferred

Experience with government programs - Strongly Preferred

Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.
