Amentum is looking for experienced personnel to expand our healthcare technology development support capabilities at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H).

Founded in 2022, ARPA-H is a Federal research funding agency that supports transformative biomedical and health breakthroughs – ranging from the molecular to the societal – to provide health solutions for all.  ARPA-H advances high-potential, high-impact biomedical and health research that cannot be readily accomplished through traditional research or commercial activity to develop solutions to society's most challenging health problems.

Amentum is seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Artificial Intelligence / Cybersecurity Subject Matter Experts supporting leadership personnel at a Federal or State agency or major private sector company.  In this position, candidates will play a critical role in supporting ARPA-H programs by leveraging deep AI/ Cybersecurity expertise to provide expert guidance and technical leadership on advanced technology development efforts. You will work closely with ARPA-H leadership and collaborate with top researchers in government and industry.

Responsibilities:

• Advise ARPA-H leadership and program teams on all AI/cybersecurity-related activities
• Establish and implement cybersecurity principles for AI systems and applications within ARPA-H
• Develop and maintain an AI Risk Management Guide to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks
• Advise on the implementation of AI cybersecurity requirements, guidance, and best practices across ARPA-H programs
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on AI/cybersecurity strategies
• Monitor emerging threats and vulnerabilities in the AI/cybersecurity landscape
• Contribute to the development and delivery of AI/cybersecurity training and awareness programs

Minimum Requirements:

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity or a related field
• 10 years of experience in AI/Cybersecurity or a related field
• Demonstrated expertise in both cybersecurity and AI
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management principles, and AI technologies
• Experience in developing and implementing security policies and procedures
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust US Government Clearance.

  Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. 

Highly Desired Attributes:

• Experience working with government agencies and research institutions
• Familiarity with healthcare data privacy and security regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
• Relevant certifications in cybersecurity and AI (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH)
• ARPA-H experience
• Other ARPA agency (DARPA, IARPA, ARPA-E, etc.) experience
• National Institute of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), or Department of Defense (DoD) experience
• Experience in a R&D environment

The ARPA-H campus is located in McPherson Square in Washington DC.  Hybrid and telework options are likely but residence within Washington, DC metropolitan area is desired.
