SUMMARY OF POSITION: The IT Support Specialist provides Helpdesk support and works with all facilities and offices to ensure computers are operational. This includes software, hardware, setups, wiring, networking, troubleshooting and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (To be completed without harming or injuring, co-worker, self, or others):
- Performs Help Desk function by answering, documenting, resolving, escalating and prioritizing tickets.
- Trains users on use of hardware and software including, but not limited to applications, servers, storage and networking equipment.
- Performs basic network hardware and structured cabling installation and troubleshooting.
- Installs IT hardware and software as directed by IT Director.
- Identifies and resolves IT related hardware issues.
- Hardware and Application Support and route issues to the proper vendor.
- Active Directory and Application User management and roles.
- Utilize Root-Cause analysis to solve issues.
- Document all application process, procedures, configuration, and change management.
- Setup and Install Telecom and mobile devices: VoIP phones, Cell Phones, MDM, tablets/iPads, etc…
- Maintains confidentiality as it relates to company information and data.
- Communicates with facilities and IT Director the status of projects and issues.
- Up to 50% regional travel required to facilities as needed.
- Company vehicle may be provided.
- Assists IT Director to develop strategies for future IT needs.
- Occasional on-call duty for afterhours and weekend support 24x7.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years of work experience or any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties
- General knowledge of hosted application management and support
- Experience with the following technologies:
- Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems
- Microsoft Windows Server – basic experience
- Microsoft Office 365 Email and Office applications
- IT Help Desk ticketing software
- PCs, laptops, IoT, MDM, Cell Phones, Printers, handhelds devices
- Network troubleshooting – TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Meraki
- Experience installing and troubleshooting Structured cabling
- Must have reliable transportation and clean driving record for regional travel.
- Highly self-motivated and works well in teams and under minimal supervision.
- Ability to meet all health, compliance, and competency requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Has successfully completed state required background and drug check.
