About This Role

Galois is hiring an IT Support Specialist to join our team! This role will focus on supporting Galwegians across the organizations in developing and maintaining harmonious relationships with the systems and services provided by the IT team broadly. You will use your Customer Service First focus and outside of the box thinking to pave the path to success for both yourself and your world-class colleagues. 

This role will present itself as a point in your career where you are exposed to a wide variety of IT domains (e.g., Systems and Network administration, DevOps, Security), and will allow for you to explore their meaning and value to you personally.

Responsibilities

As an IT Support Specialist, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • IT ticket management
  • Act as a trusted arbiter of access rights
  • User account administration and maintenance
  • Asset procurement, tracking, maintenance, and management
  • Administration of collaboration tooling
  • Build and maintain an understanding of current technologies, systems, and solutions to support keeping Galois operating optimally

Key Qualifications

  • Education:
    • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Information Technology, or an adjacent domain, is required.
  • Required Technical Expertise
    • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and general connectivity issues
    • Basic understanding of information safeguarding
    • Basic understanding of network support services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, Directory Services, and the like)
  • Required General Skills
    • Must work well with internal customers, including building rapport, identifying needs, and communicating with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. 
    • Must be highly motivated and able to self-manage deadlines and quality goals.

Security and Citizenship Requirement

The employee must not require a U.S. government export license to authorize access to export-controlled technology and software required to perform this role.

Additionally, the employee must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance.

Location

This role requires the ability to work in-person from our office in Portland, Oregon.
