Title of Position: IT Security Analyst II

Position Type: Full-Time. Regular hours include Monday to Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Compensation Range: $65,000/Yr. - $90,000/Yr. *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills*

Location: Headquarters – Endwell, NY

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Perform event correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise to gain situational awareness and determine the effectiveness of an observed attack.


• Analyze identified malicious activity to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods, effects on system and information.


• Determine tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for intrusion sets.


• Perform cyber defense incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact and making recommendations that enable expeditious eradication and recovery.


• Notify designated managers and CIRT team members of suspected cyber incidents and articulate the event's history, status, and potential impact for further action in accordance with the organization's cyber incident response plan.


• Build, install, configure, and test dedicated cyber defense tools.


• Perform system administration on specialized cyber defense tools to include configuration, maintenance, backup and restoration.


• Monitor external data sources to maintain currency of cyber defense threat condition and determine which security issues may have an impact on the enterprise.


• Provide cybersecurity recommendations to leadership based on significant threats and vulnerabilities.


• Provides departmental back-up coverage as needed.


• Respond effectively to changing ideas, responsibilities, expectations, trends, strategies, and other processes.

 Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience; 4-6 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.


• Specialized knowledge in cybersecurity disciplines required and leadership experience expected.


• Experience with incident response procedures.


• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs.


• Proficient with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, PCs, etc.

• Advance Information Security certifications, as administered by GIAC or (ISC)2 preferred.
