We are currently seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to provide customer support and technical assistance to all users onsite and remote users.
This position is on site in our Tinley Park, Illinois location and is expected to pay $70,000-$82,000
The IT Helpdesk Technician typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to the following:
Essential functions:
- Provides technical support to users by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems, maintaining workstation, operating system, and LAN performance at all sites/centers
- Detect, diagnose, and resolve application issues
- Monitor and improve system performance by identifying problem/s and recommending changes
- Troubleshoot, identify issues, recommend solutions to ensure consistent productivity and minimize downtime with effective internet and/or Wi-Fi connectivity at all sites/centers
- Set up systems, computer hardware, software, software updates, networks, printers, scanners, etc.
- Set up new hires’ desktop or laptop computers, email accounts, and LAN connectivity to printers, scanners, servers, network share drives, etc.
- Maintenance of email accounts/directories (e.g., adding new hires, deleting/deactivating and/or redirecting terminated employees’ email accounts).
- All other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications:
- Five+ years prior IT and systems administration experience
- AA/AS degree, certification.
- Acute system administration, computer skills, familiarity with MS Windows products.
- Problem-solving/ Critical thinking and organizational skills
- Practical verbal and written communication skills
- Operating systems, phone skills
- Excellent customer service and follow-through
- Quality focused
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project management skills
- Ability to travel if required (10%)
- Eager to learn and participate in projects
- BS preferred
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, or hear.
- Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds as needed up to 50.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
