The Helpdesk Technician serves as the primary point of contact for team members seeking technical assistance. This role involves providing remote troubleshooting, documenting issues, and escalating unresolved problems to the appropriate support levels. The Helpdesk Technician ensures that users receive accurate information and support, contributing to a smooth IT operations experience.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for technical assistance via phone or email, providing timely and professional responses. 
  • Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues using remote diagnostic tools and guided questioning, ensuring that employees  
  • Forward unresolved issues to higher-level support, ensuring complex problems are addressed efficiently. 
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of IT hardware and software inventory. 
  • Support users in account setup, basic training, access to IT systems, and during new technology rollouts. 
  • Document all issues and their resolutions in the ticketing system, ensuring records are accurate and current. 
  • Ensure issues are fully resolved by following up with team members and updating their status. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent  
  • 1-3 years' experience as a Helpdesk Technician or in a similar support role. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Azure AD. 
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products. 
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly. 
  • Customer-focused, with the ability to remain calm under pressure. 
  • Team-oriented, with strong collaboration skills. 

Physical Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation to occasionally troubleshoot on-site issues in off-site locations
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
